Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District
The Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD) was proposed in May of 2006 as a way to show city support for the arts. The district is a diamond or bead-shaped area of Downtown centered around the Courthouse Square and ranging from Indiana Avenue on the east to well past Rogers Street on the west, and from roughly 1st Street to 10th Street north to south. The district is expected to contain several sub-districts, including Kirkwood Avenue, Arts Row and Restaurant Row, City Commons and Community Venue. It will designate parts of several streets to be closed off during festivals and include part of the B-Line Trail.
BEAD maintains a weekly e-mail newsletter announcing arts and entertainment events, auditions, and other arts opportunities. Signup and past newsletters can be found on their website.
