The location of Schmalz's Department Store from 1946-1988 and Bryan Furniture previous to that. When Schmalz's shut down in 1988, local businessman Jigme Norbu bought the property and a string of unsuccessful consumer-oriented businesses opened and closed:
- Shangri-La Vegetarian House
- Uptown Billiards Arcade & Entertainment Center
- The Mirage night club and bar
- The Hot Spot, a non-smoking, non-drinking dance club
- Club Liquid
- After Hours Topless Bar
- Club Cream
- Ground Zero
At some point before 2006, ownership of the property was transferred to U.S. Assets LLC (which also owned the Snow Lion). In 2006 it was sold to Christopher Swanson and Benjamin Swanson for $630,000.
