919 E. Tenth Street
The building at 919 E. Tenth Street was originally built by the Indiana University chapter of Beta Theta Pi. The architect was Frank Logan of Carrere & Hastings and the general contractor was Charles A. Pike of Bloomington. A photo from the early days as a fraternity house is available at the website of the Monroe County History Center.
The building is currently owned by Indiana University and is named Informatics East, being one of three adjacent buildings that serve as home for the Informatics Department.
The building was slated for demolition in the 2010 Bloomington campus master plan.
In the State of the University address in September 2019 Indiana University President Michael McRobbie announced the building would be named in honor of his predecessor Miles Brand.
