Alpha Hall
From Bloomingpedia
A four-story building privately constructed in 1906 as the first women's dormitory. It was located on Lot 1 of Forest Place sub-division, at the corner of Forest Place and Third Street (photo). During World War I, the Army used it to house soldiers training in radio communication. In 1919, Indiana University leased the building and renamed it Residence Hall. They purchased it in 1936 and used it for classrooms and offices for a variety of departments. It was razed in 1961 after construction of Jordan Hall (photo).
