Baker Building
The Baker Building, or Baker Place, is a renovated building at 115 S. Walnut Street. It houses Roadworthy Guitar and Amp, an art space, and a high-end three-bedroom, 2800 square foot condominium that is available for rent.
The building had previously housed a furniture maker and a hardware store.
The original oak floors are still visible, along with the burn and hatchet marks from wood-burning stoves. However, the suite features a full modern kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, marble bathrooms with a soaking tub, a private washer and dryer, fireplace and flat panel LCD television with surround sound and central air conditioning, a private entrance, and free off-street parking.
A plaque on the front wall reads:
The Baker Building David N. Baker Jr. Jazz Musician, Composer, and Professor Dedicated in honor of his artistic contributions shared with our community. July 23, 2007
