Bender Lumber

Bender Lumber was a locally owned lumber business located on West 11th Street. It also includes home renovation materials, with a flooring center and kitchen and bath designs. The company was formed in 1962 when Harold Bender and his sons purchased the Wegmiller Lumber company from its owner, who was retiring.
The company steadily expanded in the 1970's, opening stores in Bedford and Martinsville, followed in the 1980's by additional locations in Seymour and Paoli and more recently, Madison and Linton.
To encourage employee loyalty, the company provides employees with a stock ownership program.
The location is now home to Blue Heron Woodworking.
