Benjamin Nathaniel Smith
Benjamin Nathaniel Smith (March 22, 1978 – July 4, 1999) was a criminal justice student at Indiana University in the late 1990s, but is most known as being a white supremacist and spree killer who killed two, injured nine, and then killed himself on a four-day multi-city killing spree between July 2 and July 4, 1999. In Bloomington, he killed Won-Joon Yoon, a graduate computer science student, on July 4.
Smith was a follower of the World Church of the Creator and disciple of Matthew Hale. He was frequently seen handing out anti-Jewish, anti-Asian, anti-African-American fliers on campus. He also wrote guest columns at the Indiana Daily Student under the alias "August Smith".
