Bloomingpedia:Boilerplate request for permission

Below you will find a few examples of letters you can use to request permission to use others intellectual property for Bloomingpedia. You should probably also read the same page on WikiPedia for more information and examples.

It is important in any request that you cover a few things:

• The owner would be agreeing to allow their intellectual property (text, images or other media) to be used freely by Bloomingpedia and its downstream users. This is covered in the GFDL.
• They would only be putting specific texts or media under the LGPL, not all of their works.
• Bloomingpedia is not a for-profit entity and nobody makes money off of it.
• Credit would be given to the creator of the content.

If you don't already know about it, there is this great community site called Bloomingpedia (http://www.bloomingpedia.org) that is full of information about Bloomington, Indiana. I was wondering if you would allow use of <WHATEVER> on Bloomingpedia in the article for <SOME ARTICLE ON BLOOMINGPEDIA>. I think it would be a great addition to the information on the site. However, we can only use your <WHAT IT IS> if you grant us permission under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License.
