Charles Showers

Charles Christopher Showers (C.C. Showers) was a circuit-riding Methodist minister and cabinetmaker. He moved to Bloomington in the 1850s.
Showers died in 1882 after being struck by a train in Greencastle, en route from Bloomington to Indianapolis. He was 65 years old.
He married the former Elizabeth Hull, and they had seven children: Sarah Sears, Mary Hendrix, William Showers, James Showers, Anne Hewson, Lola Ingler, and Charles Hull Showers. He taught his sons the art of cabinet making, which led to the founding of the Showers Brothers Factory.
