Clarence “Rollo” Turner
From Bloomingpedia
Clarence Rollo Turner was a graduate student and activist during his time at Indiana University Bloomington in the late 1960’s. He opened a retail store called The Black Market to promote African and African-American goods. He led a sit in protest prior to the 1968 Little 500 race that resulted in removal of racial exclusion covenants from most campus fraternity constitutions. The single holdout fraternity was not allowed to compete in the race that year.
