Clarence Gilliam (b. 1920) was the leader of the local chapter of the NAACP for 25 years.
He was a 2005 inductee into the Monroe County Hall of Fame on which his plaque reads "Fought for equality and justice as leader of the local chapter of the NAACP for 25 years."
