Ed Rockstein
Edward David Rockstein, Ph.D., is an East Asian language and area studies specialist who first came to Bloomington in 1965. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures with a major in Korean Studies. He received a Masters and Ph.D. degree from Princeton University in Korean language and literature. He has a second masters degree from the US Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Dr. Rockstein taught Korean and East Asian Civilization courses in the IU Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures 1969-1971 and Department of Uralic and Altaic Studies 1972-1975. Subsequently, he was the first executive chef at the Runcible Spoon. He is now retired from the U.S. Government and from L3 Communications where he taught advanced Korean reading and translation classes.
