Elizabeth Bridgwaters (b. 1908, b. 1999) was a leader in the community, particularly for African-Americans.
She was a 1999 inductee into the Monroe County Hall of Fame on which her plaque reads "An African-American civic and spiritual leader, serving on the school board and in various other capacities."
