Frank Southern Center
From Bloomingpedia
The Frank Southern Center is an arena and ice rink located southeast of Bloomington High School South.
Originally constructed in 1968, the center was renovated in 1988 to include four new locker rooms, an energy-efficient heating and air-conditioning system, an enclosed skating arena, a Zamboni ice machine and more than 300 pairs of brand new rental skates.
It was named in 1968 for Frank Southern, a Monroe County State Bank president and a long-time school and parks board member who died in 1979.
