Groves Restaurant
From Bloomingpedia
Groves Restaurant was a family dining location in the small retail center at 1000 N. Walnut Street. Famous for its home-style cooking, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken and pies, the restaurant closed around 1983. Food critics Jane and Michael Stern called the sugar cream pie "ideal".
Gretchen Groves Graham owned and operated the restaurant for 35 years. It was named after her first husband, Roy Groves, and she kept the name even after marrying Allan Graham.
