IU Welcome Week
From Bloomingpedia
Welcome Week is the opportunity for new and returning students to get acquainted with the university's campus and resources. The week is filled with many open houses, events, traditions and free food. Although most events take place the week before classes start at IU, many events continue into the first few weeks of school.
Some of these traditions include:
- CultureFest- a unique cultural event annually held the Thursday of Welcome Week at the IU Auditorium that showcases IU and Bloomington's rich diversity in food, music, activities, and cultures.
- Traditions and Spirit of IU- held on the Friday of Welcome Week in Assembly Hall, this is an opportunity to familiarize the students
- RecFest- Held the Friday before classes start at the HPER Building to introduce students to the campus Recreational Sports.
- Taste of the Union- Also held the Friday before classes. This is an opportunity to sample free food from all the businesses inside of the Indiana Memorial Union.
