James S. Williams (b. 1834, d. 1916) was one of the first major operators in the stone business in Monroe County.
He was a 2001 inductee into the Monroe County Hall of Fame on which his plaque reads "One of the first major operators in the stone business in the county, and was a leader in Stinesville."
