Jazz at the Station
Overview
Jazz at the Station is a fine dining restaurant and live jazz venue located in the former Illinois Central Railroad Freight Depot.
In business since October 2007, the atmosphere at the restaurant reflects the building's former role as a railroad depot and also jazz heritage with tasteful displays of railroad related posters, tickets and general paraphernalia. The restaurant is owned by Cheryl Underwood and operated by a husband and wife team, Matt O'Neil and his partner Regen.
The restaurant closed on March 14, 2009.
The menu is eclectic with a European flavour, a reflection on Matt's Irish roots.
Prices are reasonable at about $20 per person, excluding alcohol and dessert.
