John Dinsmore

John Dinsmore (October 6, 1810 - ? )was one of the earliest settlers of Monroe County. He was born in Ireland to Samuel Dinsmore and his wife Mary. Before leaving Ireland he married the former Margaret Small. He came with his wife and mother to the county in 1838, buying and improving 120 acres of forested land, and later exchanging it for 240 acres. By the end of his life he had built this farm up with a large residence, a barn, other outbuildings, and an orchard.
Dinsmore had eight children, including Joseph Dinsmore.
