Julia Weiss
Julia hails from Valparaiso, Indiana, where she studied and worked at Valpo's acclaimed Chicago Street Theatre. She has trained extensively in improv and worked in scripted plays as The Girl in The Hot L Baltimore, Rust in Balm in Gilead, The Woman With The Notebook in Chamber Music, a number of Shakespeare roles, and more. She took, directed, and assistant-taught a number of workshops and classes at Chicago Street before coming to Bloomington for college. She worked as a Mini Plays camp counselor this year at the Bloomington Playwrights Project. In addition to teaching, Julia has been on stage at the BPP as Patty in Patty Red Pants, Terry in The New Jersey Book of the Dead, Eleanor in Public Parts, and most recently at IU as Marina in Uncle Vanya. She believes that Shakespeare is an important part of any actor’s foundation and is excited to be teaching it to young performers.
