Kagan Tuncay
Kagan Tuncay received BS and MS degrees from Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey), and a Ph.D. degree from Texas A&M University. He worked at Izmir Institute of Technology (Turkey), Texas A&M University and Utrecht University (the Netherlands). He is currently employed as an Associate Scientist at Indiana University. He has been taking photographs of Southern Indiana and Bloomington since 2004.
Kagan often uses the technique of High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDRI) to capture high contrast scenes. This is a relatively new technique that gives pictures more pronounced range of values between white and black; in other words, highlights are brighter and shadows are darker while retaining detail.
His photographs were on display at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater's Textillery Gallery in 2007, from June 1st through June 29th.
