Griffy Lake by Kagan Tuncay.
Griffy Lake is a small reservoir in the north of Bloomington fed by Griffy Creek. Canoe rental is available at Griffy Lake Nature Preserve, a Bloomington city park.
Griffy lake was formed by the construction of a dam in 1924. The reservoir served as the principal source of water for Bloomington until 1953.[1] As an emergency source of water it is owned by the City of Bloomington Utilities, although the Parks & Recreation Department operates the lake and surrounding areas.[2]
