From Bloomingpedia
The peace sculpture on the west lawn of the Monroe County Courthouse is one of few such sculptures in the country.
The official title of the sculpture is "Congregations for Peace." It was sculpted from native limestone by William T. Dahman and dedicated on May 30, 1979.
The inscription on this statue is from Matthew 5:9 and reads: "Blessed are the peace-makers, for they will be called children of God."
