Park Ridge East
Park Ridge East is a neighborhood on Bloomington's far east side.

Geography/Size
The neighborhood is fairly large. It lies both on Bloomington's north and south sides, as the dividing line runs through the neighborhood (although Kirkwood Avenue, usually representing this line does not exist in the neighborhood). It is very far to the east of Walnut Street; its eastern border is the city limits. Beyond the eastern side of Park Ridge East is a forested area of ravines, creeks, and gullies. It is part of the vast woodlands that encompass eastern Monroe County, and almost all of Brown County. Much of the forest immediately adjacent to the neighborhood is owned by John Mellencamp, and residents of the neighborhood and guests are often seen walking the many paths that run through the woods.

Within the neighborhood
Park Ridge East is made up of quiet streets, small hills, and homes built in the 1960s. The neighborhood has a park in its southeastern reaches, between Cambridge Court and Morningside Drive. The park itself has tennis courts, a basketball court, shelterhouse, playground, and a baseball diamond. The diamond is not maintained like the ones at Cascades Park, Winslow Sports Park, or Bryan Park, but it is used for small baseball, softball, or even kickball games, sometimes organized by kids of the neighborhood.
School Districts
The youth of Park Ridge East attend University Elementary School, Tri-North Middle School, and Bloomington High School North. Before 2005, the neighborhood lay in the Rogers/Binford Elementary district.

Neighborhood Association
Park Ridge East maintains a neighborhood association, with residents of the neighborhod serving on it as well as heading it up. The acronym for the organization is PRENA.
