Ralph Rogers
Ralph Rogers (b. 1889, d. 1976) was the founder of Rogers Group, Inc..
He was born in Monroe County on July 27, 1889, to John and Anna (Berry) Rogers. After the death of his father, he quit school at the age of 16 to support his mother and sister. In the 1920's, he formed a partnership with Harry Berry to operate the Bloomington Crushed Stone Company. His first quarry was on South Adams Street, near where the Rogers Building Supply store later operated.
He retired in 1967 and passed away on May 1, 1976.
Ralph is a charter member of the Monroe County Hall of Fame on which his plaque reads "Founder and President, Ralph Rogers and Company, 1920-1967; Major commercial, institutional construction developer; Fraternal leader."
