Reliable Drug
From Bloomingpedia
Reliable Drug, a chain of drug stores throughout the midwest, had two locations in Bloomington: one at 216 S. College Avenue and the other at 4021 W. Third Street.
Reliable went heavily in debt when it acquired 120 stores from Peoples Drug in 1989 and 136 more stores from Revco in 1990. But it was unable to handle the debt burden and declared bankruptcy in 1993. Both Bloomington stores were closed down and the company's assets were sold to Osco and Rite Aid.
