The Royal Dog was a gourmet hot dog and bratwurst restaurant at 301 South Walnut Street from 2001-2002. The store boasted several kinds of bratwurst and toppings. It was created by former IU Football player Jason Mack and his brother Kevin Mack. The store was unexpectedly closed in 2002 just after announcing plans for a new outdoor seating area and pub. It was then boarded up and the property stood vacant for several years.
