Rumba Cafe
From Bloomingpedia
The Rumba Cafe was one in a string of restaurants at 620 W. Kirkwood Ave. It catered to Latin American soccer fans, with several TV's and cuisine from Latin American countries including Cuba, Honduras and Puerto Rico.
The restaurant served fried plantains, Cuban sandwiches, tostones and other dishes.
In 2011, they changed the name to "Kirkwood Cafe" and served a pretty fantastic brunch buffet with the only drawback being that the bacon was turkey bacon. Sadly, they closed in 2012.
