Ryan's Jewelry Store was a downtown mainstay for 47 years between approximately 1949 and 1996.
Owner Tom Ryan died in 1993, and his wife Bessie kept the shop running for a few additional years before retiring. The store was located at 116 S. College Avenue.
The store was burgled threee times, in 1972, 1980, and 1990. In 1972 thieves got away with more than $100,000 in gold and jewels.
