Sinkholes

Sinkholes are areas of sunken land where the support underneath has eroded away. They are quite common in and around Bloomington due to the large deposits of limestone, which easily are eroded by underground water.
Southern Indiana is also famous, geologically speaking, for karst topography (see Karst Farm Park).

- To the south-east of the corner of Palmer Street and Driscoll Street.
- On the west side of Washington Street just south of 2nd Street.
