In the Herald-Times Reader's Choice Awards, the store has been voted the city's #1 shoe store for 9 consecutive years.
The store was formerly called Smith's Sport 'n Shoe and originally Smith's Shoes. Founded in 1952 by Sid Smith, it was located on The Square at the current location of Malibu Grill. It expanded to be one of the first tennants of College Mall in 1965 and remained there until 2008. Current owner Steve Smith bought the Maxwell Center strip mall, still containing Maxwell's office supply store, and just north of Bloomington High School South. After renovating the mall, he moved the shoe store there and renamed it to the current name in 2009.
The store closed in December 2018.
