Sunny Slopes
note: This information is entirely anecdotal from someone who grew up there.
At the time it was undertaken, the development called Sunny Slopes was located about two miles south of town. Houses in the southern 2/3 of the subdivision were built in the mid-1950's of inexpensive pre-fab sections. Before the project was completed, the developer was killed in a traffic accident. An account handed down states he was crushed by a bathtub he was transporting. The remaining available lots were built on by individuals, and the homes on them were much nicer and with more variety. Most of the homes have gone through a process of renovation. The trees planted as saplings in the mid-50's now provide a thick canopy of dense shade.
