Talk:Bobby Knight's firing
The right date
There seems to be a discrepency as to when Bobby Knight was fired. Or at least not a clear indication. Many of the news articles on major media outlets like CNN, ESPN seem to make the initial report on September 11th and even the 12th. But then I find some that report it as early as the 10th. I just found this article on the Indy Star website that gives a clear timeline and reports that Brand announced it in a news conference the night of the 10th. So I guess the 10th is technically correct. Most people probably didn't find out until the following morning. -- Mark 14:33, 16 March 2006 (GMT)
- The 10th sounds right to me. -Chrobb 14:49, 16 March 2006 (GMT)
According to the HT of September 11, 2000 (Monday):
"Indiana University President Myles Brand fired the men's basketball coach Sunday morning after Knight refused to resign." September 10th, 2000 was a Sunday.--Mcplref1 19:13, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
Merge?
How about we merge this into Bobby Knight? It's a short article and I see no reason why we don't just do it all on his page. The Knight Riots article can stay on its own, although looking at it, the dates seem to be wrong... -Jkonrath 14:37, 22 July 2006 (EDT)
