- You're right about the Daily Grind; it was downstairs and Roscoe's was upstairs. Downstairs where pizza place is now was an import store with lots of beautiful textiles, run by a woman named Mila. Comic book store upstairs center, next to what is now Upstairs Pub. The Nutcracker Sweet was where Jimmy John's is now; it was a locally owned natural/vegetarian food cafe. Had my first avocado salad there. In late 70s- early 80s, bought by a shady entrepreneur who remodeled it as a "hobbit hole", badly. Then it became one of several ice cream places, including Penguin.
