Wasn't his full name Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, but he just went by Mies? --Jkonrath (talk) 19:04, 9 August 2019 (EDT)
He was born Maria Ludwig Michael Mies. You are correct about his full name at the end of his life. I have yet to see a full explanation of how how that evolved, but Rohe was his mothers maiden name. I used the name for him that I see most frequently, including here: http://miessociety.org/mies/projects/
I don't feel strongly about it. Either way seems defensible...
