Base Nomenclature
The official name for the base is Naval Support Activity Crane (NSA Crane). This represents an approach the navy is using for land installations. The "landlord" for the base is Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). The base then has various "tenant" commands such as Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division and the Crane Army Ammunition Activity. This is a change from prior years.
