Close Date

I don't know the exact close date, but I do know the building was demo'ed at the end of 94 or start of 95. I have some pictures from around xmas-new years with that lot completely dug out with construction fence around it. --Jkonrath (talk) 18:41, 8 April 2019 (EDT)

Block's

Prior to being Spaceport, this was a regional department/clothing store called Block's, from 1942 to about 1980, which is when Spaceport would have probably opened. I don't know if this was in the same building, or if Block's was demoed and the new building built. It sounds like Block's was bigger, so maybe this was subdivided? I don't know.

Block's opened a smaller store in College Mall when it first opened, about where Abercrombie is. But they later built a bigger store, and moved both of those stores into the same place. Block's was acquired by Federated in 1987, and that store became Lazarus.

Other Vague Memories
