Thunderbirds Junior Roller Derby

The Thunderbirds Junior Roller Derby is Bloomington's junior roller derby team, which formed in 2012 as a not-for-profit entity. Skaters, ages 7-17, are registered members of USA Roller Sports (USARS) and compete in the flat track events in the Midwest region. Though not officially affiliated with the Bleeding Heartland Rollergirls (BHRG), the team shares practice facilities and draws substantial support from the its adult counterpart. The community-supported team is managed by volunteers that include coaches, referees, administration, and other support. Its slogan is "Warning: Cute but not Cuddly".
