Ward Cunningham
Ward Cunningham (b. May 26, 1949) is the father of the wiki. He invented the first wiki in 1995. He was born in Michigan City, Indiana and grew up in Highland, Indiana. He studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Purdue University, where he graduated with a master's degree. He currently lives in Beaverton, Oregon.
Ward attended a summer program for high school journalism students hosted at Indiana University, Bloomington in 1965. He became familiar with Henri Cartier-Bresson's Decisive Moment by day studying photojournalism at Ernie Pyle Hall and became familiar with the Rolling Stones' Satisfaction while hanging out with other teenagers in the university dorm.
