William E. Brown

William E. Brown (August 10, 1895 - March 17, 1950) was a local businessman in Bloomington.

A Monroe County native, Brown worked on a farm in his youth and later founded a music store. After returning from service in World War I, he worked for William Graham at Graham Motor Sales, eventually taking part ownership and, after Graham's death, becoming president. Under his leadership the company became one of the largest auto dealerships in southern Indiana. He served as director and president of the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, division chairman for the Community Chest, director and president of the Bloomington Rotary Club, and Department Commander of the American legion.

He was a 1990 inductee into the Monroe County Hall of Fame on which his plaque reads "Honors (Pre-1946) Long-time Bloomington Businessman who was active in the American Legion, the Chamber of Commerce, the Community Chest, the Bloomington Rotary Club and the Boy Scouts."
