William Whisnand

William E. Whisnand was a farmer and wagon-maker who moved to Monroe County in 1830.
He had married the former Elizabeth Wolf two years previously, and they had eleven children together.
In 1848 he purchased a 115-acre farm for $1100.
Elizabeth died in 1871 and Whisnand married a Mary Ridge five years later.
Whisnand was born May 26, 1807, the son of Revolutionary War spy Jacob Whisnand of Pennsylvania.
