The Fashion Shoe Store in the Harris Grand goes into receivership. Ellis Shaw was the proprietor. J. B. Fields is the assignee.

- 3rd - Perry Eads is found lying dead along the Monon track at the Illinois Central and Monon "Y". His skull had been crushed. He had quarreled with William Mershon the previous day and Mershon was arrested, but claimed Eads had been struck by a train.
November
The Banneker Community Center building is completed, then known as the Colored School. Students had been using the armory building on College Avenue since the beginning of the school year.
