3rd and High Festival
The 3rd and High Festival ended in 2006. It was an annual event featuring children's games, festival food, arts and craft vendors, the High Flyers Family Circus and various other performers. It started as a small school carnival for St. Charles School in the early 1980s and grew to an event that attracted many people from the Bloomington community. The biggest years were in the late 1990s when almost fifty arts and craft vendors sold their wares and the performance docket was full.
A number of factors contributed to the Parish and School leadership deciding to stop the big annual festival and return back to its roots as a School carnival with the Family Fun Fest. Still, the 3rd and High left lasting memories for the many of attendees and St. Charles members who worked tirelessly to put on the event over the years. A handful of folks in the Parish hold the distinction of working every 3rd and High from the humble beginning to the last festival.
It was located on the grounds of the St. Charles Borromeo Church on the corner of 3rd Street and High Street.
