Bloomington Academic Computing Services
From Bloomingpedia
Bloomington Academic Computing Services was the provider of academic computing services to Indiana University.
BACS was created in 1981 with the merger of the Research Computing Center, Small Computer Support Group, and the Office of Instructional Computing. (The RCC was named the Wrubel Computing Center at the time, not to be confused with the facility that BACS moved into in 1986.)
It merged with the Information Services group, which was an administrative computing services program, to form UCS in 1989.
