Claude G. Malott
Claude G. Malott (June 30, 1963 - April 19, 1933 ) was mayor of Bloomington from 1904-1909.
Malott, a Republican, was related to the Guthries of Lawrence County through his mother. He was born in Tunnelton, near Mitchell, and received literary and law degrees from Indiana University, where he played left field on the baseball team.
He studied for a year at Harvard, and later became a teacher of science at Washington High School and worked for Indianapolis firm Bowen-Merrill.
He was elected mayor in 1904 and was impeached in 1905, but was not removed from office and served his full term until 1909. He continued to live in the county.
Malott married the former Martha Orchard on July 19, 1896.
