Isaac Kahn

Isaac Kahn (1829-1887) was an early merchant and one of the first Jewish settlers of Monroe County. Born in France, Mr. Kahn relocated to Bloomington in 1844 and developed an extensive trade in that city, for a time employing his nephew Moses Kahn. In 1866 he retired and moved to Indianapolis.
Mr. Kahn married the former Belle Hirsch in 1856. They had three children: Clementine, Cora, and Henry. Henry Kahn was the founder of the Kahn Tailoring Company of Indianapolis.
