John Waldron
John B. Waldron (1856-1886), for whom The Waldron Arts Center is named, was a 20-year member of the Bloomington Town Council in the late 1800s. He also spent three years as a county commissioner. He began a tenure as director of the First National Bank of Bloomington in 1871, eventually becoming president in 1874. He had a son, Charles B. Waldron.
The eldest son of John and Ann (Bonecum) Waldron, he was born in Bloomington and started working life in his father's tannery at age 18. He was a Catholic and a Republican.

Died Monday morning (May 10, 1886) from rheumatism of the heart. Age 31.
The son of John Waldron, president of the First National Bank of Bloomington. Married Minnie Shiel of Seymour less than two years ago and has one son. Funeral at St. Charles Catholic Church. His uncle, Father Bonecum, of St. Louis, attended the funeral.
