Kevin Robling
Kevin Robling, who was born in 1957, has served as corporation counsel for the City of Bloomington since January, 2004.
He enrolled in law school at the Indiana University School of Law after serving with the Judge Advocate General's Corps in the U.S. Army. He served a stint as a police officer in Boonville, Ind. and worked for five years in ALCOA's Warwick Operations.
Robling graduated magna cum laude in 1997, "serving as the editor of the Indiana Law Journal, and then left for Phoenix, where he was an associate in the commercial litigation groups at Gallagher & Kennedy and Jennings Strouss & Salmon. He returned to Kokomo, Ind., to practice in the Donald J. Bolinger law firm before coming to IU" in 2000 when he was hired as assistant dean of admissions at the law school. [1]
Title 20 Enforcement
In the last several years, it has been alleged that Robling has brought fewer than twenty (20) lawsuits against landowners for violations of the Title 20 Zoning Ordinance, which restricts the occupancy of certain non-grandfathered properties near the Indiana University campus to three (3) unrelated adults. By contrast, as may be confirmed with Public Records Officer Susan Failey, there are at least two thousand (2,000) houses subject to Title 20.
