October 16th, Gun shots fired in town

Date: 10-16-07 Time: 11:30:00 AM- Security Alert Warning - Details to follow. Indiana University Police report that the area around 2nd and Patterson streets on the west side of the city is now fully secure and the public can resume normal activities. A suspect has been taken into custody and police believe there is no longer any threat to the public at that location. This morning, Bloomington Police assisted by IU Police responded to a report of shots fired in that area. The site was cordoned off while police worked to secure the area. At no time during the incident, was there any threat to people on the Indiana University campus or in the vicinity of the Indiana University campus.
The rifleman has been identified as Indiana University School of Law student Jesse Sneed.
