Rick Bryant

Rick Bryant was Station Manager of WIUS AM-FM Radio from 1978 - 1980. He served together with Steve Ross, WIUS General Manager during the same time period. Rick & Steve both worked professionally as Disc Jockeys on WBWB-FM radio in Bloomington, IN for several years, as well. Rick & Steve were successful in promoting WIUS 95.1 FM on Bloomington's cable system as a Stereo FM radio station, and they publicized the station in the community and on campus via billboards, flyers, concerts, t-shirts, etc. Live remotes were done from the Bluebird Nightclub and other venues. Rick & Steve worked with the Indiana University Department of TV & Radio Telecommunication's administration, faculty and staff in an effort to get funding for WIUS to become a full-fledged on-air FM Radio Station. Of course, this wasn't completely successful until 1994 when WIUS became a broadcast station on AM 1570, and then ultimately almost 20 years later when WIUS finally became WIUX-FM in 2006.

Rick was a Disc Jockey on WIUS from 1970 - 1972 (before the infamous WIUS Studio fire) and then again beginning in 1978. Rick hosted the "Time Machine" program on WIUS, and "Voice in the Wind" and "Blow the Trumpet" on WBWB-FM. He also worked as an announcer on other radio stations, including WFIU-FM, Bloomington. Rick continued by making a professional career in TV Broadcasting in 1987 and worked in production for 20 years in that industry, including time serving as a Television Station General Manager. Rick also worked professionally in the News Department for KTUL-TV, NewsChannel 8, an ABC Network Affiliate, in Tulsa, OK. [1] Consequently, he has extensive background in TV and Radio production and management, and holds Professional Certifications with the SBE - Society of Broadcast Engineers as an SBE Television Broadcast Operator, and with Adobe as a Certified Associate in the Dreamweaver and Photoshop Creative Suite applications. Now under development, Rick is currently building COOLQ® Multimedia [2], a division of Cool Cue Communications, Inc, which will specialize in Digital Multimedia Productions and Website Design.
